Comparing 2017 Lincoln Continental to 2016 Cadillac CTS

It can be argued that Cadillac's rebirth began with the introduction of the CTS. Available today only as a sedan configuration, Cadillac's midsize vehicle is all about performance, including the offering of a V-Series that for 2016 delivers 640 horsepower. Also new for 2016 is an available 3.6L V6 with Active Fuel Management and Stop/Start technology; the latter is also integrated into the 2.0L turbo model. A new eight-speed transmission is paired to all engines and a 360-degree camera is now available. See how Lincoln Continental compares to Cadillac CTS.

Competitive Perception

The 2016 CTS is touted as a performance offering and its available 3.6L twin-turbo V6 is the most power-dense in the segment. It delivers over 116 horsepower per liter of displacement (420 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque).

CTS's standard engine is a 2.0L turbo delivering 268 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.

Newly available for 2016 is a 3.6L V6 that delivers 335 horsepower and 285 lb.-ft. of torque.

Lincoln Reality

The all-new twin-turbo 3.0L GTDI V6 with Dynamic Torque Vectoring in Lincoln Continental is similarly powerful, with more than 133 horsepower per liter of displacement (400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque(1)).
