Comparing 2017 Lincoln MKZ to 2016 Cadillac ATS

Available in sedan and coupe configurations, the ATS, Cadillac's entry-level vehicle, is all about performance. New for 2016 is the addition of the V Series, Cadillac's ultra-performance variant; a new 3.6L V6 engine with Active Fuel Management and start/stop technology for the 2.0L turbo. A new eight-speed transmission is offered on all engines. See how Lincoln MKZ meets ATS head-on.

Competitive Perception

Like nearly every current Cadillac model, the ATS is touted as a performance offering; its new 3.6L delivers 335 horsepower and 285 lb.-ft. of torque.

Lincoln Reality

2017 Lincoln MKZ offers an all-new twin-turbo 3.0L GTDI V6(1) delivering 350/400 horsepower(2) (FWD/AWD) and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.(2)

The updated standard single- turbocharged, twin-scroll 2.0L GTDI I-4 engine on Lincoln MKZ also bests the ATS standard 2.5L engine by delivering nearly 45 more horsepower and 75 more lb.-ft. of torque.(2)

Competitive Perception

ATS elevates driving dynamics with:

  • Nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance
  • Five-link independent rear suspension

MKZ owners also have the ability to customize their ride quality via continuously controlled damping: a firm ride for twisting roads and a more comfortable ride when the pace is more leisurely.

Competitive Perception

The ATS has an intuitive and connected cabin with refi ned amenities:

  • Standard OnStar® with 4G LTE and standard built-in Wi-Fi® hotspot
